Structure Tags
Structure tags in AI music are predefined labels used to guide the arrangement and composition of a song’s sections during generation. They define how a track is organized over time, including parts such as intro, verse, chorus, bridge, drop, or outro. When included in prompts, structure tags help AI models understand the intended progression of a song, ensuring that musical elements appear in a logical and musically coherent order.
Instead of generating a continuous, unstructured audio stream, the model follows these markers to build recognizable song architecture. Structure tags are especially useful for controlling pacing, transitions, and emotional build-up within a track. They act as a bridge between human songwriting logic and AI generation, translating abstract ideas about song flow into explicit instructions. In AI music systems, structure tags improve predictability and control, allowing users to shape not just what is generated, but how it unfolds over time.

Place tags directly before each section in your lyrics:
[Intro]
(soft piano, building atmosphere)
[Verse]
Walking through the city at night
Neon lights reflecting in my eyes
[Pre-Chorus]
Something's changing, I can feel it now
[Chorus]
We're alive in the moment
Nothing can stop us tonight
[Bridge]
Time stands still when you're with me
[Outro]
(fading synths, ambient ending)
- Keep tags short: One or two words work best, maybe three maximum
- Tags can be unreliable: The AI sometimes ignores them - try multiple generations
- Combine with descriptions: [Intro: soft piano] can be more effective than [Intro] alone
- Use [Outro] or [Fade Out]: Helps the song end properly instead of cutting off
