This year (2022), the Experience Design Team<\/strong> of Philips has been awarded the honorary title of “Red Dot: Design Team of the Year 2022<\/strong>“. The Red Dot design organization awarded the title in recognition of the Philips Experience Design Team\u2019s multidisciplinary approach to creating integrated solutions that address major challenges in healthcare.<\/p>\n

Philips holds 57.000 patent rights<\/strong>, only in 2021 Philips received 182 International Design Awards<\/strong>, it’s #1 medtech company, a global leader in health technology, in a short video presentation isn’t possible to grasp all the innovations of Phillips, it’s a Clarivate Top 100 Global Innovator<\/strong> – 9th year in a row.<\/p>\n

In 2020, Philips also was awarded the “Red Dot Design Award – Best of the Best<\/strong>” for their conceptual design of LOTUS, a next-generation Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) – a conceptual exploration, designed to enhance the neonatal intensive care experience for families and clinicians.<\/p>\n

Caring for preterm babies is challenging. Fragmented data from different systems prevent clinicians from easily seeing a full patient overview. Complex clinical jargon and processes can create a barrier for families to understand and participate in the care of their baby. And premature babies are obviously fragile and need the right environment and care delivery to grow, thrive and bond with their family.<\/p>\n

Featuring a next-generation clinical informatics platform, LOTUS monitors and collects information across all devices and systems into one easy to use interface. This provides a holistic view of the baby\u2019s status, helping clinicians make critical decisions and coordinate care between teams.<\/p>\n

The concept is coupled with an adaptive healing environment that can transform from supporting the baby\u2019s development, to providing a soothing and calming environment for families, as well as addressing workflow and care delivery needs of clinicians.<\/p>\n
