Youtube PROMOTES and REWARDS the use of misleading thumbnails, headlines, and descriptions to entice viewers to click on a video. They support &#8220;manipulative clickbait techniques&#8221; cause they have to keep their &#8220;earning-machine&#8221; running.<br \/>\nYoutube has become like a polluted ocean, a big toxic ocean full of fake \u201cnews\u201d, conspiracy theories and pseudo-science videos. While some clickbait techniques (by some people) may be viewed as harmless marketing strategies, all of such &#8220;techniques&#8221; are manipulative and unethical. Clickbait videos can have misleading content too, such videos not only &#8220;pollute the mind&#8221; of people and damage our democracy, but also are polluting our planet. <\/p>\n<p>Youtube has become like a polluted ocean, a big toxic ocean full of fake &#8220;news&#8221;, conspiracy theories and pseudo-science videos. To keep it running electricity is needed, energy consumed by Youtube is enormous. <\/p>\n<p>According to Swedish KTH Royal Institute of Technology, in 2019 the internet used 10% of the total electricity consumption worldwide. Youtube was the 3rd biggest global internet bandwidth eater or generator. Youtube generated about 1.8 trillion annual video views, about 11.4% of global internet traffic was consumed by Youtube. Already in 2019, Youtube used about 243.6 TWh of electricity.
