\nThis joke suggests that we\u2019re surrounded by spies, especially our smartphones (the most dangerous, untrustworthy gadgets that ever existed). We still believe nobody \u201cwatches\u201d us, but is that true? Is that so? Just remember “1984.” George Orwell knew exactly what would be “going on” sooner or later. He knew very well; he truly was a genius. And I don\u2019t understand why it\u2019s considered a dystopian social sci-fi idea. To me, his prophecy isn\u2019t “dystopian” at all. It\u2019s a very harsh reality right now. Everything you have said, everything you wrote in messages, every photo or video you\u2019ve made, everything of your life that was processed via your smartphone is stored somewhere at the corporate… cloud clusters (I don\u2019t know how to call such things).<\/p>\n

They say we can apply to have our data erased, according to the laws at any time – probably in Asia, Australia, or Africa, I don\u2019t know; they may have different regulations, but in Europe, EU data protection legislation is comprised of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the Law Enforcement Directive (LED), and the Data Protection Regulation for EU institutions, bodies, offices, and agencies (EUDPR). That\u2019s convincing enough for us, even more than enough. But the simple truth is we never ask: When did you do that? Can you remember when your data were deleted from Apple\u2019s data centers (for example)? I never asked to delete something, nor did I ask for anything. I hope you did : )
