In mid-1996, the song became a worldwide hit roughly one year after the Bayside Boys produced a remix of the song that added English lyrics. The reworked “Macarena (Bayside Boys remix)” spent 14 weeks at No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, becoming one of the longest runs atop the Hot 100 chart in history. The song stayed in the Hot 100 chart for 60 weeks, the longest reign among No. 1 songs, only surpassed 15 years later by Adele’s “Rolling in the Deep”. By 1997, the song had sold 11 million copies. While having only a 25% take in royalties from the song, Romero and Ruiz became immensely wealthy.

The music video for the reworked Bayside Boys-remix of “Macarena” was directed by Vincent Calvet. It starred Mia Frye, who was also the choreographer, and features ten different women singing and dancing with Los del Río against a white background. In contrast to the scantily-clad women, Los del Río are dressed in suits.
[ wikipedia ]

[ Lyrics: Macarena ]

When I dance they call me macarena
and the boys they say that I?m buena
they all want me, they can?t have me
So they all come and dance beside me
move with me jam with me
and if your good i take you home with me
A la tuhuelpa legria macarena
Que tuhuelce paralla legria cosabuena
A la tuhuelpa legria macarena Eeeh, macarena

A-Hai 2x

Now don?t you worry ?bout my boy friend
the boy who?s name is Nicorino
I don?t want him, ?cause sent him
he was no good so I – hahaaaa
Now, come on, what was I supposed to do ?
He was outta town and his two friends were soooo fine

Ref. 2x
Claps Ahai Ahai
Keys

Ref. 2x
Lach
Come and find me, my name is Macarena
always at the party,
?cause the chicos think I?m buena
come join me, dance with me
and all your fellows cat hello with me
Ref. 5x

[ Los del Río ] – (Spanish “those from the river”), also known as the Del Rios, are a Spanish Latin pop and dance duo formed in Dos Hermanas, Andalusia, in 1962.
