\"\"<\/a>“I consider part of my identity, part of my Palestinian self, part of my being to be this city. Gaza is so dear to me – deeply dear. I believe Gaza is the most beautiful and most astonishing city in the world. And even though I dream of travelling – I really do, one of my biggest dreams is to travel abroad, to capture many things, explore many worlds, meet new people and discover new cultures – still, I feel like it’s more important for me to first get to know my own culture more deeply. To get to know my own city more intimately<\/strong>.” – Fatima Hassouna (1999-2025)<\/em><\/p>\n

\nSepideh Farsi, a refugee from Iran, filmmaker and activist, had made a documentary titled “Put Your Soul in Your Hand and Walk<\/strong>“. On April 15, 2025, she learned that her documentary had been selected to be shown at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. The next day, April 16, 2025, an Israeli airstrike killed the protagonist of her film, the photographer Fatima Hassouna, along with 10 relatives in her family home. Director Farsi had made the film from video calls with Hassouna during more than 200 days of war. Hassouna sent to Ms. Farsi video footage she had recorded herself in Gaza, to be edited with interviews conducted via video calls.<\/p>\n

The innocent victim, Fatima Hassouna, the main character in the documentary, was a 25-year-old photojournalist from Gaza. According to official Israeli statements, the attack targeted a Hamas operative, her death together with the whole family was simply a tragic accident of war.<\/p>\n

According to ‘Gaza Notifications<\/em>‘, Hassouna was a talented artist, photographer and journalist, a courageous voice from Gaza, known for her powerful images and narrative. Israeli forces killed her, silencing an innocent voice, “breaking or blinding a lens” that told the world the truth of the tragedy in Gaza.<\/p>\n

\nDirector Sepideh Farsi<\/strong> lives in “Paris”, or maybe somewhere else. In short, she lives somewhere in Europe, probably dividing her time between Paris and Athens, since 2009 it has been difficult for her to return to Iran, due to her films and activism against the Iranian regime. All her films are said to be banned in Iran. As is known, censorship in Iran is at very high levels, in 2024 it was considered among the most extreme in the world. Reporters Without Borders, out of 180 countries in the World Press Freedom Index, had ranked Iran in 176th position.<\/p>\n

\nSepideh Farsi, refugjate nga Irani, regjisore dhe aktiviste, e kishte realizuar nj\u00eb dokumentar t\u00eb titulluar “Vendose Shpirtin n\u00eb Dor\u00ebn T\u00ebnde dhe Ec<\/strong>“. M\u00eb 15 Prill 2025 ajo m\u00ebson se dokumentari i saj ishte p\u00ebrzgjedhur t\u00eb shfaqet n\u00eb Festivalin e Kan\u00ebs 2025. T\u00eb nes\u00ebrmen, 16 Prill 2025, nj\u00eb sulm ajror izraelit e vrau protagonisten e filmit t\u00eb saj, fotografen Fatima Hassouna, s\u00eb bashku me 10 t\u00eb af\u00ebrm n\u00eb sht\u00ebpin\u00eb e familjes n\u00eb Gaza. Regjisorja Farsi e kishte realizuar filmin nga video-telefonatat me Hassouna-n gjat\u00eb m\u00eb shum\u00eb se 200 dit\u00ebve t\u00eb luft\u00ebs. Hassouna i d\u00ebrgonte regjisores Farsi video-pamje t\u00eb in\u00e7izuara vet\u00eb n\u00eb Gaza, p\u00ebr t’i montuar ato me intervistat e b\u00ebra n\u00ebp\u00ebrmjet video-bisedave.<\/p>\n

Viktima e pafajshme, Hassouna, personazhi kryesor n\u00eb dokumentarin e regjisores Farsi, ishte 25-vje\u00e7, fotoreportere nga Gaza. Sipas deklaratave zyrtare izraelite, sulmi kishte n\u00eb sh\u00ebnjest\u00ebr nj\u00eb operativ t\u00eb Hamasit, vdekja e saj dhe e familjes ishte thjesht nj\u00eb aksident tragjik i luft\u00ebs. <\/p>\n
