P\u00ebr vite Bijelo Dugme q\u00ebndronte si nj\u00eb nga grupet m\u00eb t\u00eb njohura t\u00eb RSF Jugosllavis\u00eb. “Lipe cvatu” (Blinat Lul\u00ebzojn\u00eb) ishte nj\u00ebri nga hitet m\u00eb t\u00eb njohur t\u00eb grupit, autori i k\u00ebng\u00ebs ishte Goran Bregovic. Albumi “Bijelo Dugme” (Pulla e Bardh\u00eb – i titulluar sipas emrit t\u00eb grupit) hapet me nj\u00eb “cover” t\u00eb himnit jugosllav “Hej, Sloveni” – dhe ky detaj, sipas Dimitrije Vojnov, ishte “si shembull tipik i pseudo-disidences Titoiste”. Vojnov pati folur gjithashtu p\u00ebr plagjiatur\u00eb: “Bijelo Dugme na e solli nj\u00eb plagjiatur\u00eb klinike t\u00eb Van Halen n\u00eb ‘Padaju zvijezde’ (Bien Yjet).<\/p>\n

N\u00eb vitin 1981 n\u00eb Kosov\u00eb (at\u00ebher\u00eb Provinca Autonome e RSFJugosllavis\u00eb) u mbajt\u00ebn demonstratat nga shqiptar\u00ebt. Vet\u00ebm 2-3 vite m\u00eb von\u00eb Bijelo Dugme e p\u00ebrdori piktur\u00ebn “Vajza e Kosoves” nga Urosh Predi\u0107 n\u00eb kopertin\u00ebn e albumit “Bijelo Dugme”. Dihet qart\u00eb se “Kosovka Devojka” \u00ebsht\u00eb nj\u00eb piktur\u00eb rreth \u00ebndrr\u00ebs nacionaliste serbe, motiv q\u00eb ishte nxit\u00ebsi kryesor i propagand\u00ebs s\u00eb Millosheviqit.
\nS\u00eb shpejti shtyllat e Federat\u00ebs s\u00eb Jugosllavis\u00eb do t\u00eb “tronditeshin” dhe pak vite m\u00eb von\u00eb federata u coptua nga luftrat. Koncepti nacionalist-politik i Bijelo Dugme dhe i udh\u00ebheq\u00ebsit t\u00eb grupit, Goran Bregovic nuk \u00ebsht\u00eb par\u00eb si “serioz”, por ishte n\u00eb fakt mjaft serioz!
\nVet\u00ebm 2-3 vite pas demostratave t\u00eb Kosov\u00ebs, teksti i k\u00ebng\u00ebs thua se i drejtohej pik\u00ebrisht “Kosov\u00ebs” (separatiste), “ik… shko kah t\u00eb duash, rrafsh t\u00eb qoft\u00eb Jugosllavia, gjith\u00e7ka do jet\u00eb n\u00eb d\u00ebm t\u00ebndin, (p\u00ebr mua gjith\u00e7ka) \u00ebsht\u00eb si\u00e7 ka qen\u00eb… por zemra jote dhe e imja s’do jen\u00eb m\u00eb kurr\u00eb n\u00eb dashuri”.
\nNatyrisht, si figuracion p\u00ebrputhet me cil\u00ebndo “dashuri t\u00eb prishur”, me cil\u00ebndo ndarje, mir\u00ebpo “mesazhi” i Bregovic pakashum\u00eb do duhej t\u00eb ishte i qart\u00eb.<\/p>\n

Lexova se pas luftrave jugosllave Bregovic e paska p\u00ebrshkruar veten si Yugo-nostalgjik dhe se ai preferuaka t’i shmanget bredhjes n\u00eb politik\u00eb. Babai i tij ishte kroat etnik, n\u00ebna e tij serbe, k\u00ebshtu q\u00eb ai nuk ishte (sipas fjal\u00ebve t\u00eb tij) “mjaftuesh\u00ebm serb, e as kroat i mjaftuesh\u00ebm”. Megjithat\u00eb, sipas meje, Bregovic dhe grupi i tij Bijelo Dugme pat\u00ebn kontribuar n\u00eb “euforin\u00eb nacionaliste” t\u00eb at\u00ebhershme jugosllave. Anise, v. 1984 ishte akoma “her\u00ebt” p\u00ebr ta kuptuar Bregovi\u00e7 se kanceri i nacionalizmit kishte nisur pik\u00ebrisht n\u00eb zemr\u00ebn e popullit t\u00eb vet. Kosova ishte tep\u00ebr “larg”, tep\u00ebr e vog\u00ebl, tep\u00ebr e pafajshme… s’kishin asnj\u00eb faj kosovar\u00ebt e shtypur, Kosova ishte si nj\u00eb “foshnje” e p\u00ebrbuzur, q\u00eb qante p\u00ebr ca th\u00ebrmija t\u00eb drejt\u00ebsis\u00eb.<\/p>\n

For years Bijelo Dugme stood as one of the most popular music bands of SFR Yugoslavia. “Lipe Cvatu” (Linden Trees in Bloom) was one of the most famous hits of the band, the author of the song was Goran Bregovic. The album “Bijelo Dugme” (White Morse – titled by the name of the band) opens with a cover of the Yugoslav hymn “Hey, Sloveni” – and this detail, according to Dimitrije Vojnov, was “a typical example of Titoist pseudo-dissidence”. Vojnov also spoke about plagiarism: “Bijelo Dugme brought us a clinical plagiarism of Van Halen in ‘Padaju zvijezde’ (The Stars Fall)”.<\/p>\n

In 1981 in Kosovo (then Autonomous Province of SFR Yugoslavia) demonstrations were held by Albanians. Three years later Bijelo Dugme used the painting “Kosovo Maiden” by Urosh Predi\u0107 on the cover of the album “Bijelo Dugme”. It is clear that “Kosovka Devojka” is a painting about the Serbian nationalist dream, a motive that was the main driver of Milosevic’s propaganda.
\nSoon the pillars of the Yugoslav Federation would “shake” and a few years later the federation was chopped by the wars. The nationalist-political concept of Bijelo Dugme and, or of the band leader Bregovic, was not seen as “serious”, but it was actually quite serious!
\nOnly 2-3 years after the Kosovo demonstrations, the text of the song as if speaks directly to (separatist) “Kosovo”, “go…, the whole Yugoslavia be plain to you, everything will be to your detriment, (for me) everything is as it has been… but your heart and mine will never be in love again”.
\nIt’s obvious, figuratively the text is conform with any “broken love (heart)”, with any partition, but Bregovic’s “message” was meant to be clear.<\/p>\n

I read that after the Yugoslav wars Bregovic had described himself as Yugo-nostalgic and that he preferred to avoid being involved in politics. His father was an ethnic Croat, his mother Serbian, so he was not “sufficiently Serb, nor sufficiently Croat”. However, according to me, Bregovic and his group Bijelo Dugme contributed to the, then Yugoslav, “nationalist euphoria”. Though, in 1984 was still “early” for Bregovic to understand that cancer of nationalism had started precisely in the heart of its own people. Kosovo was too “far”, too small, too innocent… there was not to blame the oppressed Kosovars, Kosovo was like a despicable “baby” crying for a little bit of political justice.<\/p>\n

Ironically, although Yugoslavia was chopped with bloody wars and Milosevic’s paramilitaries with their massacres and ethnic cleansing in Kosovo had become known to the whole world, in 2006 Goran Bregovic received a copy of Tirana’s Key from Edi Rama. The only recognition or a “prize” that Bregovic has ever received, the only one… and it is from Albania, what an “ironic” Balkanism… isn’t it!<\/p>\n
