“Cruel Summer” is a song by English girl group Bananarama, released in 1983. Ace of Base recorded the song Cruel Summer at the request of their German and American record labels PolyGram and Arista Records. It was released as the 2nd single from their 3rd album, Flowers (1998). A music video was filmed and directed by English director Nigel Dick. It was shot in Rome, June 1998.
