Roland Brant (real name: Orlando Bragante) is an Italian DJ and producer, born in 1961. He is one of the pioneers of techno music in Italy, a genre that he began playing in the first half of the eighties. Roland Brant is best known to the public for the songs Nuclear Sun (1993) and Moon’s Waterfalls (1996), true milestones of the genre. Other of his most successful songs are The Kiss Of Medusa (1994) and Heaven (1999). The sounds of his compositions anticipated by a few years those of the so-called Dream Progressive musical subgenre made famous in particular by Robert Miles. On several occasions Roland Brant has also used the Laser Harp, built by the Italian company Kromalaser based on the invention of engineer Maurizio Carelli, an instrument launched in 1981 by the French Electronic/New Age composer Jean-Michel Jarre.
