Danais

(Δαναΐς) - A nymph or princess heavily tied to early regional traditions of the Peloponnese and Crete. In ancient mythological references, Danais is recorded as a maternal or nurse figure to whom the infant Zeus was brought to guarantee his safe upbringing away from the watchful gaze of his father, Cronus.
