Nietzsche’s Walrus-handlebar moustache

(sg – ap, june 24)

and those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music” – Friedrich Nietzsche

…everytime I come across as if I have to smile, don’t know why, maybe just because of Nietzsche’s moustache, he had a so called “walrus-handlebar moustache” which is characterized by whiskers that are thick, bushy, and drop over the mouth, the style resembles the whiskers of a walrus they say, thus hence the name… anyway, why I have to smile about his quote simply have no clue : )

…about the “walrus-handlebar moustache”, wikipedia says (they even use his portrait there, to illustrate the example : )
“An ethnic trait of Celts and Gauls, but strongly present in the Polish Sarmatian culture as well, the walrus moustache enjoyed immense popularity among men in the latter part of the 19th and early years of the 20th centuries. Gentlemen ranging from scientists to philosophers to politicians often favored the rugged look that the style created.”
