…since 1981 and onwards, Michael Setboun is probably one of the most persistent recorders of Albania’s history. I don’t know any other photographer with such an extensive & qualitative photo-archive about Albania, capturing 3-4 decades of country’s history. With perhaps 1500 photographs, or even more (organized in 13 galleries, such as: “Albania in 1981”, “Albania – Exodus”, “Mother Theresa in Albania”, “Kosovo refugees in Albania” etc.), Setboun has captured like no other photographer the political, cultural and social development of the country.
