…as an emotional attitude in our hearts we simply assume hate is an emotion often rooted in fear, mistrust, powerlessness, or vulnerability, but it seems our science still doesn’t “know” exactly what hate is. In attempting to understand the psychological experience of hate, researchers have investigated what other experiences or emotions are associated with hate.
In 2021, researchers concluded much more work needs to be done before psychologists will have the capacity to address this issue in a meaningful way.
