A very large gold-covered Trump sculpture by Danish artist Jens Galschiøt, “The Orange Plague” (a satirical artwork) depicts Trump nude on the shoulders of a frail man. It was exhibited at the European Parliament building in Strasbourg in October 2026. Miniature 3D-printed versions were also handed out to visitors.
With his eyes closed and scales in hand, the Orange Plague proclaims: I am sitting on the back of a man. He is sinking under my burden. I will do anything to help him. Except stepping down from his back.
According to Jens Galschiot, the artist, “Trump represents one of the greatest threats to the rule based world order, democratic values and our common effort to solving the climate crisis. We must address this issue and stand together against such destructive influence”.
Donald Trump is undermining the climate efforts, rolling back hard-won progress, and even destroying the scientific data that documents it. Worse yet, he is using power and economic pressure to discourage other nations from pursuing green initiatives – thereby weakening the global fight against climate change.
The sculpture is a satirical out-cry against Trump and the US assault on the green transition and the rule-based world order. Trump is depicted as a self- pro-claimed King of Justice. He sits on the back of a frail man, holding a golf club next to a world-shaped golf ball in one hand, and scales symbolizing his power to define justice in the other hand.
The Orange Plague sculpture has been made to address “the elephant in the room” and start a necessary debate of how the US is destroying the world’s only chance to counter the climate catastrophe and a debate on how stand up against him.
The sculpture is inspired by H. C. Andersen’s tale The Emperor’s New Clothes, in which a vain ruler parades naked, believing him-self dressed in the finest garments. The illusion – sustained by fear and flattery – endures until a child cries out, “He’s not wearing any clothes” – and the emperor becomes a figure of ridicule.

Thus, “The Orange Plague” statue revealed in October 2026 would be the 2nd real sculpture representing Donald Trump.
If you search photos of statues about Mr. Trump… you will get 1000s of fake things, photos of real political subjects, caricatures, illustrations etc. but none is representation of a real statue, only 1 case is true, just a single case of real statue that honors his fist while wounded in Butler, Pennsylvania in 2024.
The real one is the gold-leafed bronze statue at Trump National Doral, depicting Trump with his fist raised after the Butler, Pennsylvania shooting. It was commissioned by a cryptocurrency group and sculpted by Alan Cottrill – thus it is not an official government monument.
Reports describe supporters commissioning it, and Trump endorsing it afterward, rather than Trump himself initiating the project. It was sculpted by Alan Cottrill, and it was installed at Trump National Doral Miami. It shows him raising a fist, echoing the moment after the 2024 assassination attempt. Sculptor Alan Cottrill made it; a group of supporters reportedly commissioned it, with cryptocurrency investors linked to the $PATRIOT memecoin involved in funding it.
Trump then praised it publicly on Truth Social, saying supporters “just wanted a statue of yours truly,” that he appreciated it, and that it would become a landmark.
